check the cable in the trunk running on the left side hinge ; the hinge cut right through the wires , so check that very closely because i did the same , quick glance but then i looked again...

thats what might be the problem... let us know k?

YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE

one of my bublbs went out and i went to the local autozone and bought some new bulbs...they're not working...i'm assuming they have to be bulbs from nissan..but i don't know...i tried 2 diffrent sizes and neither one of em worked....my wires can't be fried and i know they're not cut...i should have kept one of the old bulbs to compare but i made a mistake and threw both of em away..like i said, you're not the only one with this problem...i'm tryin to find a solution to it though!!!

Re: YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE

I had the some problem with my maxima (91se) So here's what I did, i got myself a volt meter and checked the wires. There was no power at the bulb sockets, but my other 2 brake lights were good. So, I went to the bundle of wire in the left side near the hinge. Cut out the electrical tape, and there are 4-5 wires. One is black with a silver stripe, and the other is red. Those are your ground a power's respectively. I pulled them out of the harness, and got a reading of 11.87 volts when the brakes were hit! Good stuff, so i ran a jumper wire between the 2, and passed inspection with flying colors. If anyone live in new jersey, i'd be happy to do the job for you. Let me know.
