Possible Data logging tool for 3rd gen...

I was looking around for Information on the nissan 'consult' tool, and found this. It's basically an interface for a laptop that hooks up to the consult port under the dash.

It is for the 300ZX but they mention a version for the maxima some time soon.

FAQ: http://300zx-twinturbo.com/conzult/faq.htm
Here are the screenshots: http://300zx-twinturbo.com/conzult/scrnshts.htm

From the FAQ dated 7/15/02:
"Some of the features of the current software version might work on other Nissan's, but it's not supported at this time.
A ConZult version for the S14,S15, Maxima and Sunny/Pulsar GTI-r will be released early next year (2003)"

Who knows what might happen, but I'm cautiously optomistic. There is no further mention of the maxima, or what years it would support, but they do have email addresses posted.

OBD-II only most likely. all of the other PC-based stuff out there has all been OBD-II stuff.
there's one out there called pocketlogger or something like that for DSMs, but it's the same deal.

Thats what I thought originally, but it says 1990+ 300ZX, which I don't think were OBD-II yet.

I've seen that guy's site before. Phoung sells his stuff. He custom made that data logger because the Consult is so expensive. I think there's a good chance it working for the older maximas.

OBD-II data logging is 10x as easy. There's 3-5 different systems that work with Palms, PC etc.... Only about $160-$200. Lots of 4-5th gens guys have it.
