bad MPG

i think i have a bad MPG. in the city i am getting like 19 or 21MPG. This is kinda low i think. i have new spark plugs, wires, distributor and rotor, fuelpump and filter, CAI and exhaust. What can i check to see maybe it is bad or what should i do to make my MPG better. SOmeone said to get the electrion thing for fuel and air, and it made his better.

Re: bad MPG

If you want to save a little money, examine the car yourself.

If you don't have a multimeter, buy one. Get an factory service manual. Use the multimeter with the guidance of the FSM and test the various sensors on the car. For example:
a) Oxygen Sensor.
b) Throttle position sensor
c) Coolant temp sensor
d) Mass air sensor...etc etc etc

whatever doesn't read within specs, replace it (if it can't be adjusted).

Check out your fuel injectors, make sure they're not leaking. Use a can or two of throttle body cleaner.

21 in the city isn't all that bad. I'm not sure how many gallons are in a tank, but i generally get 250-300 miles out of a tank. When i fill up, it's about $25 at $1.69 a gallon, that means i'm getting 20mpg average. i consider that pretty good for a lead foot.
