I've got a 92 SE, with a 108,000 VE engine. I bought the car at 92K miles and the guy before me took immaculate care of it (dealer service always, even recorded every time he got gas). For some reason it feels like its really draggin its a$$. My mom's got a 95 Max and it has a totally different feel to it. I know it's a different car, but it just jumps off the line compared to mine. Hers rips up to the redline, while mine seems to be pulling up there with great effort. What gives? Any suggestions?

You don't really mention anything for me to comment on. Are you auto or 5-sp? 5-sp feature a power valve on the intake that the autos don't. Plus autos are a little slower than 5-sps anyway. 4-gens have 205 ftlbs torque vs our ve 190ftlbs torque. Read this thread then comment further. https://maxima.org/forums/showthread...threadid=14814

I read that post - yes, it is an automatic and there is constant ticking. Real annoying... I have some car knowledge, and a friend who has a much greater extent. As well as more tools (e.g. rebuild motor on Caravan). I think I might be able to do that, if that's probably what it needs. Is this related to 'grounding' VTC solenoids? I think I read instructions for that somewhere...

If you have vtc problems then your low end is going to suffer.

Thanks - I found your VTC bible in one of the old posts. Sorry to bother you MORE VTC questions. Thanks for the help, though.
