Streeo sound (not power) turns randomly off and on w/clicking

I would be most appreciative if someone would take a stab at this one. I know how infamous the bose/clarion stereos are. I already paid for them to fix it once and got hosed last week replacing injectors for $500. The stereo works great in general, then I hear a little click by the fuse box and it turns off. Not the power, just the audio. CD/radio works fine except for the small detail that there is no sound. Then I hear a click from the same area and it comes back on. It is the same kind of click like when you turn off the cruise or the after-click of locking or unlocking the doors. Sometimes, it turns off and on so fast it sounds like a hummingbird flapping its wings almost. I took it to a guy the other day and he said, 'well it's working so i can't tell anything, bring it back when it stops.' I thought that was a silly answer but anyway. There are no blown fuses. Should I replace them anyway? It is the strangest thing. Sometimes I can make the radio come back on by locking and unlocking the doors a couple times. Anyone heard of this? Someone mentioned something about an ignition switch once but I don't see how it would tie into the audio at all. Thanks for any pointers/direction. Steve

there is a relay under the dash near the pedals that causes this, some people have bypassed it.

I have this exact same problem and would love to know how to bypass the relay.

My guess is the fix is eomewhere on the net, ie, how to bypass this relay since it sounds like a very commen problem as are electrical problems in general with these vehicles. Ya ever try locking and unlcking the doors? Sometimes that trips it. Weird. It's got to be out there somewhere though on how to bypass this silly relay..... Thanks aoo for any direction/help.

There was a thread a while ago called 'bose intermittenly fails' that explained the fix, try searching for it when we get the search function back

Cool, can't wait and will do. It might be posted somewhere but any idea when the search feature will be up and running? Thanks!

I was just curious when the search feature might be back up. Thanks. Anyone figure out a way to fix their stereos yet?
