The back lighting for my climate control doesn't work, anyone had to change the bulbs or fuse before? Which fuse? The buttons for a/c and air direction light up fine, but the back lighting doesn't. Would the dash need to come off to change the bulbs? I suppose checking the fuse would be the first step...

Yeah I'm lazy...

Thanks.

Get the muffler? ->

And the Y noise is getting to me. I might try the yahoo site suggestion and use two large hose clamps. I note that my Y's flex section is bent to fit the angle of the y to cat connection. I'll try straightening the section to get the mesh to fit tighter. If that doesn' work, I'll try two hose clamps and something inbetween. Something that won't hold moisture as much as the header wrap would. Suggestions?

Re: Get the muffler? ->

re: the muffler...I got a response that another person wanted it and that it was to go to the highest bidder. I placed my bid and never heard back. Oh well.

I have no friggen clue as to what to use other then the header wrap. What, other than the kevlar wrap, won't cause noise or retain moisture? I'm stumped.

Whats up with the CAI? Any new ideas or plans? I'm poor and busy as hell so I haven't had much time to research. They have me opening 4 new Rack stores as well training a new admin, plus my other duties. sheesh!

I got Axxis metal master front pads from Bill. A smooth transaction I must say.

any idea on the climate control other than fuse or bulb?

Word to yo *****!

Jeff

Dash->

check the fuses. it should be labelled. You probably have to take apart the dash to get at the lights but that front face plate is not too hard from what I remember. I would take a look at the same time you/we do the smc thingies.

Also you find the ******* who hit your car in your garage?

well there's prob a bulb in the back that lights all the buttons up. i don't know if it's a bigger one or a smaller one. if it's the smaller one(s) then you'll see a small brown, grey, or blue circle in the back w/ what looks like a phillips screw..but it's plastic. turn that counter clock and pull it out and you should see a small bulb on it. that's what u need to replace. if it's a bigger bulb then you just need to take it to the local part store and find the right one. you just need to take off the trim around it ..same piece around the radio. four screws and the whole control comes out.
good luck

It's been a while since I did this, but I'll try to detail as much as possible...

I have a friend with a '90 Maxima, and I changed out his AC control unit. Yes, you have to take the main dashboard trim panel off. It's definitely not a fuse, because all the bulbs in the control unit would be dead if it were. There are approx. 4 bulbs total for the AC control unit. Once you pull the unit from the dash they are fairly easy to replace, but I wouldn't have the first idea where you might find replacement bulbs, as they have molded rubber bases, and I don't think dealers sell the bulbs seperately (although I'm sure they'd sell you a brand new control unit)...
