I am planning on buying some new door panels. My quetion is can the inserts be changed. Like if I buy black door panels with grey inserts would I be able to replace the grey with my tan tweed inserts.

Yes

use stuff to get the leftover foam material off and use spray adhesive on the back of the insert to make it stick.

new-Nissan dealer (is still avail.) new to you-Junk yard. Cost depends on whatever the junk yard wants to charge you. I would say between $150-$500 depending on if you get seats and everything or just a few parts.
