yeah, they are 12x1.25

12 has to do with the diameter of the bolt
1.25 is the pitch (threads)

I bought 12mm locking lugs from Autozone...and they don't fit Should I try and get them on with some force, or buy a higher quality set elsewhere?

can't you return them for a right set? no point risking stripping the thread.

how dont they fit? wont tighten on? too tight against the rim? if they wont tighten on they might be 1.5 as opposed to 1.25, first couple of threads will go, but not the rest. dont tighten it on or else the threads will be stripped

make sure the thread pitch is correct, there are 12x1.5, 12x1.25 (ours), 12x1.75 and maybe even more than that

DONT force them on if they dont fit right; you'll end up ruining your wheel studs which would need to be replaced

shavedmax - I confirmed the 12x1.25 size on teh McGard site (google is your friend )

You got it -- it will thread for about 1 revolution, then have resistance. The guy told me any of the 12mm would fit, I was skeptical but needed some so I bought the ones that were closest in size to my stock lug nuts. Now that I know that the second # is the pitch, I'll prolly be able to get a correct set. Thanks alot guys.

P.S. - yes, I can return them, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of ordering some online if Autozone didn't carry any that fit.

12x1.25 is correct. 100% I got my locking lugs sitting next to me right here with it imprinted on.

mizeree_x........Somebody from autozone told you any 12mm lug will fit.?? What fawkin idiots. First you should already know or get the feeling that only one of the three different sizes they sell at autozone works. I know...........

I work at autozone now.!!!!

I really do.
