busted sun shade
busted sun shade
I recently got back from the NY Auto show. On the return trip two of my friends were ****ing around with the sun shade and snapped one of the clips out. My sun shade was acting as a noise dampener between the interior and the sun roof; now it is extremely hard to move back and forth and clicks when doing so. The sun roof can't even move the shade when it is in the way. I really don't have another way to explain it; my nissan dealer explained I needed a new one; I have no idea how to remove it safely to look at it. If it needs replacement, they want $195! If you have any ideas; please let me know. TIA

I bought a 90 maxima and the sunshade was broken. I got one from a junkyard for 20$. It is real easy to remove the old one from the outside with the sunroof open. take a screwdriver and pry the clips inward and pull the sunshade out. you will need to pull hard on the old one to get it past the open sunroof. I have not installed the new one yet but i bet it will go in with a little pressure then push the clips in and push them down into the track.
