whats that black regulator

whats that black regulator

ok there is this black regulator valve almost next to the intake just underneath the pcv valve its connected to a couple of wires and switches.what does it regulate or what does it do. anybody please help. thanks

havent gone out to my car to find it but from lookin in the haynes manual could be one of the following..power valve actuator, EGR valve or the IAC(idle air control)/air cut valve, im thinkin it is most likely that(IAC valve). that valve controls the amount of air that bypasses the throttle valve, which controls the engine idle speed, ill conferm in the morning

oh ok thanks a lot! i hope you find itys kinda hidden you really have to look for it! its abot 2 inches long and it has a big **** at the end.
