Pick up some from a Z or Integra.. something with a little more support. for any of you that auto X or do anything other than go in a straight line, it's amazing what it'll do to your times. now that I've got good seats and harnesses, I focus on driving, not on keeping from breaking the door panel with my knee on right hand corners.

Thanx matt93se but do those seats require alot of modding to get them to fit? 4th gen back seem to drop right in, fronts seem to require little work? Do you have a pic?

I like the Corbeau CR1's that Matt has. I have a friend with a BMW who has the CR1's and they do support greatly. If I have to change my seats in time due to weather attacking them I will be either getting custom leather for the rear and crobeau for the front or custom leather for the front also.

the rear bench from the 4th gen fits in fine. the rear back requires a little work. the top of the back doesn't clip into the rear shelf and the two screws behind the arm rest don't line up. but since it'll be a little bit of a custom job maybe i'll figure out a way to have fold down rear seats. i'll also make a pass through from the trunk to the rear seats. ugh... time for a new amp rack!
the front seats mount up fine with the exception of the mount on the inside portion below the center console.
actually...two of the mounts will be fine...two mounts will need to be worked on.
and i'm not doing anything nuts with my mounts because i just spent all yesterday re-carpeting my ride. looks nice, but man! carpeting a car is a real b!tch

maybee its just mine, but the rear seat seems 2-3 inches higher in the back and the sides although wider, dont have the same curves on the edges, especially by the c pilar. it sucks itself inthere leaving an ugly gap.

hmmmm....you may be right because i haven't had the seats in there for a month or so....my memory might be a little too weak to remember the exact areas that were a little off
it happens too often to me these days.

front seats are in, did it yesterday, they feel sooooooo sweet!. i did take pics but im by my fiancee's house and have no way to upload. the only thing that you can use mount wise is the rear mount on the floor. you need to weld a new one onto the exhaust hump, outside front mount needs about a one inch extension, welded in, inside one needs to be an inch further in, so weld another nut there. i used 3/8 x16x1inch grade 8 bolts and nuts. ill have pics as soon as i go home. much nice. and the rear is higher, ill mess with that when the time comes

All I can say is ya'lls seat look much better than the 4th gens seats front and back. The 4th gen and 00/01 seats were the worst looking seats in the Max to me. 1st gen was good, 2 gen GXE looked great, 3rd gen was great,02-03 great and 04 all look great.

All I can say is that of all the things I would want to change on my 92 SE, the front seats are high on the list. They are some of the worst I've ever sat in. No lateral support at all (and I have the cloth seats to reduce sliding). No lumbar support. The seat back actually seems to have a convex shape to to it.

Maybe I'm just used to the seats in my MR2 which you seem to put on rather then sit on top of. I like these seats so much I put them in my parts chaser van too.

shavedmax: Those leather seats look great. Sry for the late response. Can't wait to see the back seats. Can you get a close-up of the front mount bracket welded on? Thanx in advance. Wish you were going to the meet in Jersey so I could get a close up myself. Keep me posted. Dude those front speaker covers look awefully familiar... LOL

i do have shots of where stuff mounts up, but theyre bad pics, or just not fully welded so it looks dumb, but if you email me ill send the pics along your way. just remember, to do it right you have to weld the brackets in. btw, the car is soooooooooooooooooooooooo loud w/o a carpet. im going to replace the padding since it was all wet from the rear wheel wells and oily from the hydraulics.

yes...i still have to put the fronts in. i've been avoiding it.
my interior is by no means near completion. i'm expecting it to be finished by the end of summer. i have to dye the dash components and door panels black. also the other miscelaneous interior trim pieces will need to be dyed. THE SEATBELTS MUST BE CHANGED TOO!!!
i need to find a nice padded vinyl to cover the pillars, headliner, rear shelf and door inserts with.
so far i've completely re-carpeted the car and put in the charcoal 4th gen rear seats.
but it's been fun so far and i'm sure the end result will be worth all the work.

uhhh, so what's the difference in looks between the 3rd and 4th gen seats? I still don't see the point in all that effort if they don't even look better or hold you in the seat better.. oh well. to each his own.

matt........... dont hate the player, hate the game. J/K before you me

the 4th gen seats are squarer in shape, firmer, soyou dont sink into the sea like i did in my 13 yr old seats. but the best part of it all is that m head reaches the headrest without rotating the headrest toward me. that is the best

Once the turbo project is completed, the next step will be a nice set of Recaro Ergomed DS front seats ... I might consider the armrests for them.

A lot of $$$, but better value and function than any of Nissan's seats. Only then it will be worthwhile.

i've come across a set of great condition black leather 3rd gen seats for an incredible price.
so unfortunately i'm bailing on the 4th gen seat conversion.
it was cool to tinker with though.

dunno?
i'm willing to sell them...but...
there's only one problem with them.
the drivers power seat base is missing a part. but i'm pretty sure that the part can be swapped from a 3rd gen seat base. so it's all good newayz. just a little extra work.
