I have a 92SE and my tranny is starting to slip a little. I was wondering how much do you guys think it would cost me to have it put in if I buy a used one from someone on the org or a junkyard. I cant really afford a rebuild or new one so this is really my only option. Im just trying to get a good idea on how much I should expect to spend just to have it put in.

a cheap shop will charge $200 or so.... but good luck. most will want to rebuild it or something else. see if you can find a local .orgy member that's good with working on them and see if you can pay them to do it.

Thanks Matt but why do you say good luck. A mechanic that you take your car to works for you. If I tell him I want the tranny replaced then he has no choice but to replace it.

many of them will refuse to do it, simply because they don't want you coming back in a week screaming to them about a junkyard tranny that failed.

you're their customer- they can refuse to do business with you. If they choose to do business with you, they may or may not agree to simply replace the transmission and that's it.
