need help: my key was broken

I snapped my key while attempting to open my car door. Part of the key is still in the lock ... and of course, I cannot locate my spare keys.

what should i do?
can i get another key from the dealer?
any suggestion?

thank you in advance.

your keys may have come with a number on a metal tag. With that tag you can goto the dealer and get one made with it. If you have the keyless, use that to get in. If you can, try to use a pair of pliers and try to get the broken part out. If that doesn't work I guess you can always take the door apart and see where it takes you

keyless entry is the answer and relatively easy to install...heck! i did it myself and i'm a dodo when it comes to working on my car....my key is almost split in half but i have spares....at least 4. once again, wd40 has little lubricant in it...

As a warning, I use to use it alot, especially to lock the door (9) and now that button on the DHS is broken (others work). So yeah, get that key OUT!

bend a safty pin into a hook and pull out key

A safty pin, not a needle, can be bent into a hook, like a 1/16th an inch of the end of the pin. Use a pair of pliers to bend the safty pin into a hook. Slowly and carefull fish the end of the key out. If you can't let someone else try. The big end of the key has a 4 digit code on it. With that the dealer can punch out a new key that will be perfect. If the dealer has any valet key blanks you can use the same code to make a valet key. If you have no 4 digit code on what is left of your key, some dealers, the one who sold the car, can look up the key code. If not, take out one of the door cylinders and it should have a key code number on it.
