Alrigh...my tranny has been buggin out recently and I believe its time for a new one. I heard it cost around 1500 for a new tranny. But I was thinkin of changing it to manual instead of just gettin another auto tranny..anyone know if this is a good idea and how much will it cost to get the job done to convert?

I think it might be more....

to convert to 5spd!! just get an auto rebuild for around $1500-2000 and a good warranty and you'll be fine!

If I'm correct.....

Chris92gxe is getting the parts, etc. for $1400(including clutch kit?) total and the job he's gettiing done for FREE! so thats $1400 plus proably the same price for a standard rebuild and then a little extra prorbaly, I'd say you're looking at about $2500-3000 job probably, for that much I'd go with a Level 10 stage 2 rebuild and be done with it, it might not be a manual, but it'll last you a VERY long time, probably longer than a manual!!

I have 130 k on the originalk tranny. I'm hoping it stays intact for another 100 k. I very rarely use the comfort and power button. Does anybody else use them and why?
