I was pondering my lighting options for my Maxima,
and I realized that I have no manuals whatsoever for that car.

Anyway, here is some stuff I was wondering about:
What kind of bulb does the stock fog use?
Does anybody make a waterproof high-wattage wiring harness?
Any other types of bulbs I can use instead?
Whats the max wattage stock wiring can handle?

I was thinking of buying some Catz 120watt gold bulbs
and popping them in there. I've noticed that the
fogs do almost nothing, stock.

well for starters dont bother buying any other bulb for stock fogs. its all about the housing and stock fogs have outdated design and direct light poorly. that is how same bulbs can create such different lighting power its all about the housing design.( this applys to regular headlights as well newer cars just direct light better in there housing using same bulbs as older)so go with the after market fogs and just hook them up to your factory wiring via splicing. make sure water is sealed from everythign water is very bad and i have too many foglight expirences to back it. as for the harness, ur not going to find any high performance harness for stock lights other then stock.(99.9% sure)

Truthfully, I agree that the design of the stock fogs are not efficient in terms of design and light dispersion. In fact, there are many aftermarket foglights that provide a much better dispersion than the stock Nissan Fogs.

If you notice in my sig, I am planning to purchase a set of PIAAs for that reason. I am going to order them from http://www.autoseattle.com

the bulb is a 55w bulb and I think a 12 volt. I buy Sylvania H3's I used to have water problems but now I seal the area between the foglight housing and the foglight lens with a clear automotive adhesive and sealant ( a thin bead will do the job). The sealant doesn't melt and is water proof. When you want to change bulbs just trim away with a sharp razor blade. Since the improvement I've had them in for a year with no problems. I have had great success with this method. When I change one I go ahead and change both of them, just because while I'm there I might as well do them both. I was tired of riding around w/one fog or two fishbowls. The bulb costs about 3.00 and the sealant abot 2.00
