i've had this car (91' se) for 3 days and i've already had 3 roadkills. 1.) monday when i was driving home on the interstate from houston to kansas city this oanzee in a 93 or 94 gran prix gtp (supercharged) cruised on by and i was already doing like 85 so i pull up on him and he gives me this look like "man my american piece o' ****e would whoop up on ur little import. so we both floor it and he starts to pull VERY slowly the i started to pull once we hit about 105 and by the time i was doing 125 his ****** *** was 3 car lenthges behind. 2.) me and my friend were cruising around last night and this stupid little accord (94 or 95) pulls up to me at a light. well the light turns green and i get ready to floor it when i see a cop going the opposite direction from us so i let him floor it and wait til we pass the cop then punch it. man it was no contest. he got smoked BIG TIME. 3.) well tonight on my way home from work this guy was riding my *** really bad so i waited to get to a light and it was a 99 or 2000 civic ex. so he pulls up beside me and the light turns green and we go at it. we were fairly even until i hit 3rd gear then i just walked on by. i was really proud of this roadkill cuz i thought i was gonna lose especially since his car was a 5 speed and i have an automatic. anyways i think i am pretty happy with this car, it's no where near as fast as my friends 355 trans am but it rides smoother and i can actually haul people in the back seat.

Roadkills in order of kill since I got my Maxima:

1) BMW 323i
2) Mazda 626
3) Lincoln Navigator (Loved razzing my father afterward)

...and those were before I put in the K&N Air Filter.

I think a lot of people get the misconception that since we have an older car and they have a new car, our car is slow. It's fun to see the look on their face when their brand spanking new Honda Accord gets beat by a 92 Maxima SE with over 100,000 miles on it. It's even funnier to see the look on their face when I purge my NOS. Keep on racing but do it safe.

Lincoln Navigator? Isn't the 0-60 on those tanks like 10-12 seconds? I don't think he should have been too surprised when you spanked him!

Nope. The Nav I beat was a '99 with the 300 hp 5.4 Liter V8 which does turn in a respectable 8-9.5 sec 0-60 time (for a land barge). Pops thinks his Navi is the fastest truck (Even though I have driven an X5 4.4i which is a lot faster than the Nav). Also, he likes to chide me about how fast his truck is and I wanted to shut him down. Nowadays, he does not diss my Max.

Those Supercharged GTP's are pretty quick. I've raced a GTP with my bro's 2K SE auto and won by half a car.. that GTP didn't have a Supercharger either..

Hey SkyMax

yeah those gtps r pretty quick (the newer ones) but i have a friend who ahas a 94' gtp and it's not THAT fast. but i think that one of the reasons i started whooping on him is maybe his governor kicks in before mine. who knows. but my friend's uncle has a brand new gtp and i'm pretty sure it'd smoke my car. btw what year was the one u raced? and i thought all "GTPs" were supercharged? i could be wrong....

The last body style GTP's had a 3.4L 215HP DOHC V6. Great engine, too! The newer styles have the 3.8L SC OHV. While pushrods aren't my thing, I must say that its fast.

We have the element of surprise, cause no one thinks that a 4 door can beet them.
I Love prooving them wrong.

Re: Hey SkyMax

It was a 98 I believe... and I think it might have been a GT... not a GTP. My memory isn't very good at the moment.

One more added to my list of kills

man tonight was great! my freind kept trashtalking about my car saying that his mom's 97 accord lx would whoop my car's *** so i told him to put his money where his mouth is. i had him follow me to the road that has a straightaway about 2 or 3 miles long and we pulled up next to each other. well when we went at it the first time he had me by almost half a car length until we hit 75 and i passed him but that was only because when i pucnhed it my tires were spinning on sand that i wasn't aware of (we had recent snow storms so theres still sand on the roads). then the 2nd time we matched up and launched perfectly and stayed about even until 75 or 80 then i whooped his *** BIG TIME! i was pegged a when he was probably 100 yards or more behind. he was sooooo pissed and i just laughed my *** off. lifes great huh? oh i just remembered this other kill i got about 20 minutes ago. some stupid *** in an 88 mustang LX tried to race me at this light and he got smoked worse than my friend's accord. damn i hate those stangs.........

The Illinois State Police has some unmarked Grand Prix GTPs for traffic patrol. One is a '95 that is dark green. The other 2 are the newer ones in silver. You can't tell they are cops because there are no visual cues (They even use civilian plates). They have them in addition to Z28s, Mustangs, Town Cars, a Suburban, and other assorted unmarked cars.

I drove one of them and they are fast off the line as is most GM stuff.

Add one more road kill to the list. I ripped an older Monte Carlo SS a new lining last night on the E-Way. All I could say is that dude dusted me for a minute, then I reeled him in. When I got ahead of him, I hit the sweet spot and...buh bye!!!!! The funny thing was that he was flooring that old boat for all its worth to catch up with me. The only thing that allowed him to even get close again was the fact I had to get off. I had him at least a good 5 carlengths.

What year Monte Carlo SS was that? a new Monte SS will run like 15.5's, and older one, around 16s. one of my friends has an 87 Monte SS with some decent mods and he can run 15.5 with a decent launch. the older SS's have the carbuerated 305. those 305s just dont compare, technology wise.

I know. I had a Caprice with the same motor. The only way I would smoke anything is in the middle of the power band. The only mods I had on that old boat were a K&N filter and a Performance Muffler. That's how I ate a couple of Mustangs with my Caprice.

The irony was that when my engine blew, a friend of mine had a 350 for sale for $500. He was going to sell it to me installed for $1000. But since I knew that gas was going to jump back up in IL (They killed the gas tax for 6 months here when gas was over $2), I needed soemthing that drunk less gas.
