Need some expert advise

I have a 91 GXE with 114K. When I make slow turns, there is a jarring noise which was diagnosed as CV boots and axles so I got them replaced. No changes in the noise. Any ideas, shocks or something more serious? It bothers the heck out of me and the mechanic doesn't seem to know how to fix it.

Thanks,

It's a slow almost grinding noise, as if to metals are grinding against each other.

possibly a wheel bearing or ball joint, but it's nearly impossible to tell without seeing and driving the car.

if you'r ehearing metal on metal though, something's got to be messed up. I would suggest wheels bearings at first, as it's the only thing that can cause the brake rotor to grind against the caliper. nothing else should be close enough to touch metal to metal like that.

sounds like a bearing too, does it make it only while turning one direction or both?
