Blacked out lights

Blacked out lights
Has anybody seen blacked out headlights? I saw a civic with some a few weeks ago, whole car was black and then I took a look at the headlights and to my suprised blacked out. Pretty sure "blacked out" isn't the right term for the lights, but hope you guys know what I'm talking about. Do these come ready to buy or is work required?

If you really must you have 3 options.
1) Get them permanently tinted by a garage.
2) Buy some tint spray and tint them yourself (you have to keep touching up over time).
3) Buy one of those blackout covers that they sell over the net.
But be warned, it's not exactly the most legal of things, and blacking out or smoking headlights isn't exactly the brightest idea IMHO (especially with the crappy light the stock lamps put out). But, your car, your money, your tastes... feel free.

Thanks for the info. Kinda hard to find covers that fit our cars. I'm not new to being pulled over, so not worried about that.

I have seen people do this and the ones that do it right use a translucent (sp) black or a light coat of black on the light to where it is just a little tinted but not real dark and then clear the light.
I had a friend that had it done on his integra. Personally i dont like the blacked out lights since it is so 80s to me...I have been thru that fad once already lol.

Did you buy them online?

those were never made because of the design of our rear lights but if your good with a heat gun you can make your own. look in your phone book and see if there is a place that sells plastic around you and ask if they sell smoked plastic. I have called close to here (actually in new orleans which is about 3 hrs away) and they sell all kinds of colored plastic along with clear. also sell it in different thickness.
the reason i say call a place close by is because shipping on something like that is usually high since they generally sell it by sheets.
