I can tell you for sure that my 93SE 5spd has 2 harnesses also, not sure what the difference is; maybe black cars get two harnesses because they're better
I had the back seat out today so I could put some big stuff in there and move out of my apartment

I doubt its because of color, I just think that Nissan peeps while making 3rd gens may have found a better fuel pump assembly and started using those, but this new fuel pump assembly required two connections instead of one. I don't think this will cause a problem when you get your 5-speed swap.....but you just gotta get to Jeff's shop and i'm sure he'll break it down for you.

it was probably just a newer design, becuase my buddies QX4 has 2 harnesses, and mine only has one.. we added another fuel pump on, i forgot but i think only one supplied the power.. the other may be sesors..

the VE 5spd has no ABS and the auto does,

I only have one harness anyway Joe I could really use those trunk panels, before the meet.

maybe it does have something to do with abs.. but why would the fuel lines differ like that on abs vs non?

yea i just cleaned out the interior and im getting ready to part it out.. trunk is next ill clean it out and give you the panels when we go get the springs

I doubt there is anything else different other than the use of two harnesses. One harness is probably for the guage and the other is for pump power supply. Also note that the pump assembly is grounded (by one of those wires), to prevent any static discharge when the pump is being replaced.
