Engine removal.. is top removal possible

Gota put a new engine in the car, trashed the block with an easy out. Has anyone pulled the engine from the top? If so, kindly share your expertise.

yup, just disconnect the hood shocks, and you can even keep the hood on. over all its not too difficult, excpet where the passenger side drivetrain goes through the bracket on the engine.. that was a ***** to get off because of age most likely.. took me 3 days of pounding and lubricant. other then that, disconnect the wire harness, air filter, battery, and all the hoses, and pull the engine and tranny out together.. the axels just ppull out of the tranny as well..

now getting it back in is going to be fun...

Bought a used 92 vg30e engine.(no idea of the mileage) Because the rear valves are trashed in the current engine, I was only gona swap the heads till I ruined the block with an easy out(timing belt pully bolt). Now it looks like i'm gona pull the block and re-build the whole damn 92 block, we'll see when I get the heads pulled. It's been pretty easy so far........I've got two complete engines to work with.
Aloha

Well, it can be done... Even without removing the transmission.
I wish I knew how to post some pictures? Thanks for the help all!
