Quick Question

I took off the maxima trunk kit thing, my question's pretty simple, do I just the whole thing the color I want or do I separate the piece? And I've noticed in pics of other people who've done this is that the piece looks smooth unlike the factory one with the ridges at the bottom.

do not paint it...in my opinion it does not look good that way and you will probably be sorry later on.

The ones you are talking about that are smooth are that way because someone (a body shop) welded a piece of metal in place of the plastic piece...that looks good but the way you are talking doesnt IMHO.

Just had an idea, I'm gonna paint it black and then buy a new max and nissan logo to put on it.

you dont see what I am saying. I like the look of the painted center BUT not the way you are talking about doing it.

It will look extreemly cheap and tacky looking...my opinion I know and its your car so do what you want.

go to N34JZs site and look at his trunk...that looks really good but yours will not look like that.

http://maxima.cardomain.com/id/xrrcd --- Jasons site. it looks smooth and nice because it is done right.

If you want a dark center piece then get one from a 89-91 SE.

oh yeah I speak from what I have seen because I saw a max in my home town the other day with the center painted the color of the car and I thought it was the ugliest thing I have seen on a 3rd gen...well that and the photoshoped orange ricer max that so many think is real lol.

Thanks for your input. Checked out his faq section and his estimate of the trunk piece only is 500-700. Whoa, I'm not that intent on the lid.
