It's not THAT easy.. you still have to tear the manifolds off and drill out the broken studs. this is a common problem with these cars. I replaced the studs on the front side a few months ago, then shortly after, I broke on on the rear.

Parts to do it are about $50/side. the studs are about $3.50 each (you'll need 6), and the gasket is about $20.

plan a full day to do them all, as you have to remove most of the stuff around the engine, i.e. y pipe, radiator fans, intake manifold, alternator, AC compressor (not completely remove, but unbolt and lay to the side- don't pull the hoses off).
there's a few pics of me replacing the front studs on my website.

Rear Studs

So what did you do to replace the rear studs. I took it to a shop and they said that they might have to pull the top of the motor? i know the one I broke, the one right next to the oil filter. Just wondering how you went about it to change the rear studs.

I haven't done the rear studs yet, but I will be soon. I have the parts, just not the time to do it.

once you pull the y pipe and possibly the crossmember and engine mounts, (you'll have to support the engine with something now).. they should be fairly accesible from the bottom. I believe that's what Kaleb told me. he did/helped his mechanic with the rear studs on his car.
