i ordered the mandrel bent stainless steel... and i didn't get polished stainless but it may be stainless, that would mean my whole exhaust is now stainless!!! who knows, i'm sorta in the same boat, all i know is it all looks beautiful in my room waiting for my new manifold.

Well when I ordered, the TIG was a long wait and it was supposedly a better weld. Then I ordered MIG since it was taking so long and it was at my house a week later and the weld quality looks very good to me.

Any shop will tell you TIG is better so they can charge you more. I do both MIG and TIG welding, and believe me MIG is more than sufficent. Your money is much better spent on mandrel tubing, thats where HP is ;-)

I doubt you will notice any difference between the SS and aluminumized pipes- there are no performance differences obviously, and that part of the exhaust is hot enough so that water doesnt sit on it. My pipe has been through a New England winter (with lots of snow) and there are no signs of rust whatsoever. I do not believe that the stock pipe is SS either, and mine lasted 10 years. Id go AL and save the $50. Just my $.02
