Low Fuel Light is on Always

I went to fuel up my car today. I had a little over a quarter tank left, so the low fuel light had not come on yet. Well I filled up my tank completely and left. About 3 minutes after leaving I noticed while I was driving that my low fuel light came on. The brightness of the light flickers, but it is always fairly bright. It will go off every once in a while, but it will then come back on within a few minutes. My fuel tank gauge is accurate and indicated a full tank and it has come down slightly after driving for a while.
Anyone ever had this problem or seen this before.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it. Finding the problem would be a LOT of work. (trace down all wireing connections, replace computer parts, etc...) Unless It just really bothers you I would leave it alone.

If the light bothers you I would personally just pull the bulb, it obviously doesn't seem to be all that helpfull when it goes on randomly.

The fix may be a relatively a easy fix. I'm not sure if the fuel level sending unit (float) located on the fuel pump assy but if it is the fuel pump assy is easy enough to get to. There's a access panel under the rear seat. Maybe your float is stuck in the low fuel posisiton.

I just recently developed a similar problem...

On my 5spd the gas light is on (very very faint) sometimes even when the tank is full. I'm too lazy to deal with it though as I've got too much crap goin on

Well if the float was possibly stuck in the low fuel position, wouldn't the fuel gauge also read low? My gas gauge still reads correctly, but the light always stays on.

Had the same problem recently, but it fixed it self after a week or so.
