Is that... a cloth top?

I could not believe my eyes, but I was driving the 45 here in Houston tonight coming back from the RHCP concert (HELL YEA!), and I swear to you I saw a maroon 3'rd gen SE with a cloth top.

It also didn't have any other mods, at least nothing on the body or with lighting. I tried to take a picture but it was dark and I was doing about 80 so all I could get was lights... sorry fellas.

I wonder how long it takes to drop that top... not that I would do that to my max.

You sure it wasn't one of those faux landau tops? Those things are a dime a dozen in Chicago, and I've seen 'em on the strangest cars.

yeah that had to be what it was. They didnt make a convertable max and highly doubt someone converted one since they dont make a kit it would have to be custom made.

Doing so would also be horrible for the body. You would have to add some sort of bracing for the chassis otherwise it would get all bent out of shape. A convertible vesion of a car always weighs more than it normal counterpart because the convertibe needs more reinforcements to keep from twisting the body.
