Hi fellas, My car is still running on the stock suspension and it has served me well, but I think it's time to upgrade. I have decided to go with tokico shocks, but I can't decided on a decent spring to use. I want to lower the car as well as improve the overall handling. My goal is to improve the handling as much as possible without having to go to the dentist for cracked teeth.

I was thinking that eibachs and toks will give me what I want. I'm also considering the Sprint springs being that most people compare them to the eibachs. My only concern is that the Sprint springs will give me a very harsh ride compared to the eibachs due to the 2" drop.

I need some opinion here. If you have a different set up then please post your opinions. I know a lot of 3rd genners have suspension technique and intrax springs. Maybe eibach/tok setup aren't for me.

Take care all,
ICE

BTW I know this subject has been discused before and YES I did search the archives, but I really had a hard time finding info on suspension setups for 3rd genners.

You would have no complaints about the Eibach/Tokico set-up. Works for me.

Honestly, I would be concerned w/ any spring that lowers your car 2". Yes you can get the camber corrected but I'm not sure the Tokicos or any 3-gen strut/shock is designed to start w/ a 2" drop. I'd worry about bottoming out the strut and blowing it out on really hard bumps. Just me 2 yen.

combos are endless....

Springs:
EIBACH
H&R (if you can find them)
INTRAX
SUSPENSION TECHNIQUES

Struts:
TOKICO
KONI
Original Equipment
SASCH BOGE

Most Popular:
EIBACH/TOKICO
(there is a reason why most owners have this) = it works, and well. (firm but forgiving)

Most Exspensive:
KONI/EIBACH or SUSPENSION TECH. (for lower ride)
(have to modify front original strut housing to accept the KONI cartrige)(KONIs are adjustable to your taste)

So called worst:
INTRAX/ stock struts or O.E./TOKICO (very low, and poor ride) so the experts say.

The Alternate FAVORITE:
SUSPENSION TECHNIQUES/TOKICO
(cause it's the cheapest) (nice ride, bit bouncy, low spring)

Whatever you decide I highly suggest you replace your sway bars with a set of SUSPENSION TECHNIQUES sway bars.
Also lubricate your existing suspension arm bushings or simply replace them. Lasty and most important. If this is a do it your self job; GET A SPRING COMPRESSOR.

Here is my view.....

I say get the KONI front struts and eibach springs. At the softest setting the koni's would ride like softer tokico's. Then you have the choice to increase the firmness if you want. The eibachs will give you a firmer ride than the ST springs, but unless you do some autoX or road racing it won't make much of a difference in daily driving. I say ST springs, koni front struts with either tokico or KYB rear struts (whichever is cheaper).

Would it be ok to have both Koni and tokico? What would be teh advantages of that, other than less $$$?

i lowered my max a couple months ago, i barely drive in the winter, the new suspension has barely 3000kms on it, and the tires on the front are already on the steel belt of the tires on the inside. My camber is only off by 1 deg on passenger side, and 1.5 deg on driver side,
so my camber is off, Im gonna cheat to fix orhelp the prob, gonna widen and shim the wholes at the bottom of the struts.

My setup is eibach prokit, w/ tokicos, ST sway bars, front and rear, and a courtesy FSTB w/ Stillen performance vinyl sticker(It makes it handle better with this High perf. sticker!!)
It barely looks dropped, It might have dropped 1"at the front, and the back looks like maybe 3/4".

I hate the ride now, but it handles almost like a little Honda done right. I miss the old cadillac ride. I feel every little bump on the road.
The sway bars alone make the ride dif, it stiffens every thing right up. I find the FSTB to be the most useless piece in my setup, I cant feel the benefits of it, Ive driven the car with and without it. Same crap....
Sorry, but i just have to differ on what everyone else says about the FSTB, maybe its cause that was the last piece I put on. Well , i dont know. I m keeping it just for the looks

Thats my 2 cents

Hope that helps you in anyway way
