Maxima Year Mileage Checks!!
I am curious for those with third gens how many miles are on the original engine. ( Note : if you are on engine #2 or 3 please dont post something like an odometeter reading of 356k.) Please specify single or twin cam, and how long youve had it. It seems as though the twin cams die much younger.. THANKS

'92 SE 64,300 last night. VTC's tick like the mofos they are.
'89 GXE 146K currently all over the driveway. Vlave job next week, CAMS, Y, and CAI to be installed. Oh, and working fuel injectors too. |
90SE 167,000 and still going really strong....except for that disgusting new $3500 tranny lst month...however that can be attributed to the last owner....

I have 136,723 miles on my 94 gxe. I bought it in august of 2001 with 56,000 miles on it. It had a new tranny at 133,000 mi and still run good with great gas mileage!

93 DOHC 198,653
ticking like mad, engine is missing also (hopefully due to a bad injector) and another clutch will be in this week (2nd one). dad got it in 1995 w/ 30ish k miles. i got it in 2000 w/ 150ish k. i hope this thing will last forever or until im done with school then ima get the g35 coupe ;) hopefully |
93 VE 5spd 141k purchased June 22, 2002 with 116k and VTCs still working perfectly but tranny and clutch are on their way out.
RIP 91 SE 5spd puchased in Dec 22 1999 with 96k, totalled June 9 2002 with 167,666 on it. Ran nearly perfect at the time with only one broken manifold stud. |
'92 SE 118kmiles and running great except for a rear exhaust manifold problem. no vtc problems in sight....the MAF i suspect of problems

91 SE 143k as of yesterday. bought new in 91 by my dad, i got it in 99. running a lil chuggy but thats it

ran fine before the accident :( other than an air leak and a little oil around the HG area, it was runing great!!! |

VTC's rebuild at 113,000 and have been :D ever since. There's no substitute to a perfectly working valve timing system. |

92 SOHC with 216,700 miles still on the original engine!! Engine still hauls @$#. All done on the little Island of Oahu (Hawaii)!!Still put about 300 miles a week and have to climb over the mountain 8 times a week.
Have had to rebuild the tranny among other things but the engine has had not problems. Couple of engine up-grades are CAI Place Racing, MSD igintion system, Grounding system...that's pretty much all I have done with the engine. |

vtc's okay sometimes, sensors probably bad, needs new bearings in trans. |

92 se 5spd perchased with 94k has 115,000 now with grounded vtc's ticking lifters 3 bad fuel injectors 6 bad coil packs 1 bad knock sensor 3 broken exhaust studs. buy 120k and after about $1k hopefully all will be good again

'93 SE auto with 92,123 miles bought used in '96 by my parents with 36K miles. Good VTCs, good tranny, needs a new KS but otherwise very good!

89' SE w/Auto. Bought my junior yr of HS -- had 89,000 then -- has 229,893 today!! Orig. motor -- she's a lil' rough on the edges but still gets you where you want to go!

'92 SE - 172,500 Ticks a good amount, door lock timers need fixing, alarm goes off if I open it from the driver's side :p
Bought in '97 with 83,000 miles, overall still runs great! |
