Local parts store, a new headlight harness for a 9004 bulb isn't anything that's new or top secret. Most parts store will carry new harness. I pick up a two harness fom PepBoys for $5 a piece. Check my homepage for pics of "my" new harness. After purchasing the new harness I changed the gauge of the wire to a larger gauge.

it's not a bad idea to add some better wire and your own relays so that you can run the high wattage lights without overheating the stock harness.

If you get another stock one, it's just gonna happen again. Get an upgraded wire harness. $30

Well here is what I did to hook up mine...I got them from autodynamics.com

1. mount relays on side of engine bay or close to lights.
2. connect socket from original lights up to harness.
3. connect light sockets from harness to lights and ground the ground wire close by.
4. connect power wire for harness to pos of battery.
5. turn on lights and check to make sure they work.

yours maybe different than mind though but mine was plug and play.

here is what mine looks like:

Positive, negative and ground??? Don't you mean low beam, high beam and ground?

so i spliced them all together... initial test, seems everything works fine....
do i use the di-elctric(sp) grease in the harness now to help it from burning out again?

I have something similar, but now I don't have any high beams... not that I really need them anyway! lol

hmm interesting...I just got a pm from someone yesterday that said they didnt have high beams and they had a harness like that. Maybe its something with the 9004 harness or something. I have the 9005/9006 harness for my bmw lights and high and low beam both work fine.

Yeah, it's the 9004 harnesses that are like that. Kinda sucks, but I don't care really. I have HIDs down low and also higher wattage bulbs in the headlamps so I never worry about out driving my lights anyway.

I have the APC upgraded headlight wiring harness and my brights work? Let me tell you, when I installed that harness, it made a hell of a difference! Now, I can actually see my headlights in the rain!
