questions about speed mods(jwt ecu/UR udp)

ok i am trying to improve my power such my runs at the track on sunday(17.04 @ 80.8mph)

i am getting the carsound hi-flow cat installed on thursday.is $200 a good price for the carsound cat installed?

next speed mods( in july) i am thinking either getting the udp or the jwt ecu. which one had better hp gain? i would have got the udp first but my speed shop said $225 for install? so like pulley+install=$450. is that the normal price for the udp?
how much difference do yall Vg guys feel from the ecu and or the udp?

i am gonna go back to the track some time in the next couple weeks after this stuff is done hope i get mid 16s

Do you have a Y-pipe? Any Other mods? The ECU should be the LAST thing you get since it has to be reprogrammed for each mod to get the most out of it.

If all you have is a freeflow cat then I SURE wouldn't spend $500-600 on a ECU.

it does not have to be reprogrammed for each mod. The JWT program is one program geared towards all bolt on mods...Intake, exhaust, pulley... but yes you should wait on the ECU until you get the basic bolt ons first.

your car is stock correct? cat will not yield you much in the way of gains. start with an intake and Y-pipe and go from there

Basic mods

y pipe
intake
UDP
exhaust(not necessary unless yours is stock and failing)

Dont spend 200 on a cat if you dont have a y pipe. And if you are getting a cat, order the one for 107 shipped from WSP and install it yourself.

After you have these, then think about the ECU

no i have been modding my car for 2 years. i already have intake, exhaust muffler, and advanced timing. i didnt know if i should go ahead and get the ecu, udp, or y-pipe next. which one would be the biggest bamg for the buck. i saw the y-pipe had several different kinds. like aluminized, t-304 steel or sumtin like that. are they all the same or just deiffernt metals? which one should i get(y-pipe). also does anyone know about the jet v-force thing?

ooooook...figured you were stock based on your latest bout of posts here and in the 1/4 mile forum. the muffler isn't doing anything for you performance wise and the intake adds a little bit. you should be running a little faster than 17 but we've already discussed that. the Y-pipe is the missing link for now...get that first.

get the y-pipe first then i guess i'd go with the udp thats what i did. because the y-pipe is the biggest bottleneck of the exhaust IMHO. oh yeah i think 225 is way to much for the install for the udp. To get my udp installed was only 75 dollars labor i believe. so i would shop around for a place that would install it for cheaper. also for the udp i think groupbuycenter.com usually has a monthly group deal setup for them and i think the price was pretty good. cheaper than custommaxima.com i believe. I would do all the basic bolt ons possibly cams then go for the ecu. Cause from what ive read good cams with the ecu makes a big difference. good luck and happy modding.

yeah i dont think i am gonna get that hi-flow cat. it was $200 for that installed i can spend the extra $50+ for install on the y-pipe. on the y-pipe does it make a difference if u get just the aluminized or should i get the t-304 ss pipe?

performance gains are the same for both. The stainless will last a lot longer if you are in an area with rust problems. Most likely your best bet is the aluminized.

get the y-pipe. i bolster the vote on that one. the difference is significant. you feel more response from the otherwise sleepy VG. mine is warpspeed. you get loud, too.
