Fuel Pump / Fuel Level Sending Unit
Fuel Pump / Fuel Level Sending Unit
My fuel gauge reads past full all the time. After searching, I've found that it could be my fuel level sending unit. Has anyone replaced this? And if so where did they purchase the unit?
Also, sometimes I hear a gargling/cranking/grrrr noise coming from the back of my car in the area of the fuel pump. I checked the search and someone posted that if you're not getting any heat from your vents it could be air in your system making that noise. The only thing is that I'm getting heat from my vents. Is the fuel pump about to die on me?

sounds like it may be about to go out.. although the fuel level indicator and the pump are on the same assembly, they're completely different parts. yank it out and take a looksee at it and see what condition the sending unit is in.
remove the back seat, and you'll see a grey/green cover with 4 bolts in the floorboard. pull that guy out and the pump is right there. I installed a walbro pump in my car last weekend in about 35 minutes... not a difficult job at all.
