How much is a fuse box?

There are a few slots in my fuse panel that are dead and that do not take fuse, eg. I put a fuse in and it does grip into the slot. Another slot takes the fuse but then when I test the fuse I get no response as if it's dead, but it's a perfectly fine fuse

Huh? Are you trying to put fuses into empty slots and expecting some secret electrical system to start working? Depending on the options your car has, it may have a bunch of empty slots (like if your car doesnt have fog lights, there might not be a fuse in the fog lights normal fuse receptacle).

My guess is you can't even buy a new fuse box. They don't wear out.

What are you trying to do?

Of course I'm not trying to put fuses into empty slots. Slots that are supposed to have fuses are ones I'm referring to, shift lock, I think the starter, and a couple others.

If the slot isn't gripping the fuse anymore you will have to stick a small screwdriver into the slot and bend the metal tabs closer together. Of course unhook the battery first. If you still aren't getting power through the fuse, try removing the fuse panel and making sure the wires are still connected in the back. Good luck!
