average tint price?

i think it's about time to replace the tint on my max. they're starting to look pretty nasty. got some bubbles here and there, torn edges, etc. I was wondering what's the average price for getting the 4 windows re-tinted. I have no clue on tint pricing, and don't wanna get screwed over for paying too much. any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

I was just about to post this, my windows aren't tinted though. I would to know how much it would be to get all my windows tinted. Dark in the back and a bit lighter in the front.

its like most things and is determined by where you live. Where I live its about $125 for all the side windows and the rear (basically all but front windshield.

It will cost more though if they have to take the existing tint off. I would take it off first.

35% smoke tint for 180 (sides and rear), with lifetime warranty. i think it cost the same for 20% which is too dark at night although it would look better in the day. 20% is illegal in my state.

thanks for the replies, now i have an idea of the pricing.

think i'll go with 35% on all the sides. think i'll leave the rear alone since the tint on that is still decent in shape.

Yes a four inch strip on the top of the front window and my tint is 5% and is illegal. My friend was driving drunk in it two weeks ago and got pulled over in another state and the cop didn't know he was drunk, but was unable to get him for the 5% tint because the car wasn't registered in that state.

i tried the whole DIY tint thing...its not an easy task and basically wasted my money on some good azz tint...hardest part is the back window...my car still has no tint...i would suggest buyin some cheap tint and playin around with that to get a feel for what you're tryin to do...if you can do it, then get the better tint!! Good luck and take your time of you're goin to do it yourself!!

It's really easy tinting if you have a squeege and 3 hours. Make sure you add lots of water so it doesn't dry out. Just push out all the air bubbles. It's pretty simple.

i went out to a local tinter and asked for a quote to do all the sides. he's asking for $105 IF i removed the tint myself. if not he's asking for $150. Sounds reasonable.

Just asked a local guy (iowa) and he said 175 for 35% all around was the best he could do. Good deal?

call a bunch of different places and see if that's close to what others quote. make sure to ask about warranty, etc.

How much does tint usually go for by the roll and how much is usually needed to do the side windows? I've got some scratches on my current tint thanks to the window regulators blowing, so my idea was to take off each window and re-tint it completely, taking my time. If it's possible to save more than a few dollars by doing it on your own, it might be worth the few hours of work to guarantee a good finish.

The tint I was looking at getting to replace my current one is the one with a strip of silver on the bottom 1/4 reflecting back out.
