fuel pump

fuel pump

i think my fuel pump is dieing, it rough at idel and rough on the intial acceleration of the pedal. question is what are other symotoms of bad fuel pump and what is the biggest after market fuel pump i can run on stock injectors without an afc.

that doesnt sound like a bad fuel pump it could be alot of things and i dont think yau can run a bigger pump with out aftermarket fpr i dont think an afc can tune down that much more presure but im not 100% on any of this

A bad fuel pump would yeild a bad dropoff in performance as you are accelerating. Ie, your motor would rise to 3500 rpms then drop down to 3000 as if you let up off the gas, but you never did.

It could be a vacuum leak, however. I had that happen and the symptoms you are describing were very similar to mine. I cleaned out my throttle body and accidentally broke the gasket. I had to drive my car without the gasket there for a full day while I tried finding a spare. Thank god Felpro gaskets for SR20DE's fit perfectly, and at $1.19 each, not bad. The dealership wanted $5.59 and 5 days to get one to me for the VE.
