need help asap!!
i was driving last night then suddenly the lights and power went out...car stalls and i jumped it and get but so far until i think the battery die too...i think the alternator went tho...if so where i can i get this part for reasonable price...also does anyone do this installation in jersey city nj....if not could i do it my self is there a diagram on replacing it..i need all the help guys thanks

this happened to my little bro in his 93 SE 5spd. took it to the shop, they said oh it'll be about $100. then they looked again and said "oh wait... no. sorry $350." maximas use a nonstandard alternator, produces more power than most. i'm looking at remanufactured ones online right now and they're like $200 - $280, and that's not counting labor

It's not hard to install at all. All you gotta do is first, disconnect battery terminal, then disconnect all the wires that attach to the alternator, loosen the alternator tensioner so you can take the belt off of it(just have to take it off the alternator pulley). Then, just take the bolts out of the alternator to take it off( I believe there is one long one in the top of the alternator and then the piece that loosens and tightens the alternator belt on the bottom). Put your new one back on and you're set.

oh really..well i wanna atleast try to do it myself so thanks for the info..but another thing is i was looking for the alternator..but dont really know where its placed...does it have a tube for the ac...or is that the ac motor...where is it located?
