Greddy Muffler

I was washing the max last night and while cleaning the greedy muffler, I noticed that on the inside of the muffler, the perforated piece of pipe was loosened and resting against the glass packs (Not sure if it's the correct name for the white sound deadening material inside mufflers). This perforated pipe is connected from one end of the muffler to the other end and has lots of little holes in it. I couldn't remove it, for it is the same diameter as the muffler's outlet. The car sounds normal and drives normal.

Any ideas or suggestions? Is it ok to leave the loosed pipe the way it is? Will I have problems later on?

Thanks, Jason.
