Before starting on changing to the WSP y-pipe....

I'm about to start. But I have two questions; 1 which side of the vehicle should I prop up, front or back to be able to easilyest replace it? 2. How long do you think it would take for a beginner to install?

raise the front high enough to where you can access towards the middle of the car....time will depend on whether or not you can loosen the damn rusted cat bolts, good luck.

It took me soo long to get my stock y-pipe off. First off, buy a can of PB blaster or liquid wrench (both better than WD-40 IMO) and liberally spray it on all the nuts / bolts. Let it sit for a few hours at least. Then, be prepared to get frustrated. On my car, there were mixed SAE and metric nuts holding the y-pipe onto the manifold and cat. 3 of them got stuck in the sockets and it took me so long to get them out. I did finally get the damn thing off, but if I had to do it again, I'd probly either: A. Borrow some nice power tools to do the hard work for me, or B. Pay a mechanic to do the hard work for me.

I got a question about a WSP y-pipe: Would it be pointless to get a WSP y-pipe without changing the rest of the exaust to bigger piping? Because the y-pipe would be 2.5 and then it would go back to stock. Wouldn't this mess up the flow. Just wondering cause I was gonna get one and leave the rest stock. Thanks

wouldn't be pointless, but it would probably restrict flow and not perform as well as if it were 2.5" all the way back...sorta like bottleneck

That's what I was thinking it would do, but I've heard that by itself the WSP y-pipe is still pretty awesome.

I'll let you know tomorrow. I have the WSP SS y-pipe on the car now (and it does make a big difference by itself), and am getting the WSP 2.5" catback w/ magnaflow muffler installed tomorrow morning. I am hoping for an improvement, as the catback I have now is a crappy <2" midas job that the previous owner had installed I guess.

I'm thinking of maybe having a muffler shop make me a 2.5" catback to match the y-pipe. That way the flow will be even all the way through the system. I would get a greddy, but it's too expensive.

I was wondering the same thing that snow was. Is just the WSP and no other exhaust mods a good idea?

Get a pait of ramps and drive the front end up on them. Then jack the back end up on jackstands. Gave me lots of room for crawling on my back under the car.

But if you REALLY can't afford to spend $25 for ramps, put the jackstands under the front.

It is DEFINATELY worth doing the y-pipe without doing the rest of the exhaust. The only other mod I had on mine at that point was a cone filter under the hood. There was a definate increase in response.

There was again when I went to a 2.5" B-pipe and muffler.
