About Loweing My Car. Will It Work?

I have 17 inch rims on my 1993 Nissan Maxima SE with 205 45 tires. I would like to get Sprint Springs and lower it 2.00" will it work and not rub

both of those sizes are TOO small. I assume you bought some rims off of a Honda civic owner

Well... just for the record, I've got 215/45/17 Kumho's on 17" TSW's... and I'd listen to Jeff if I were you. If I could do it all over again, I'd probably get a slightly bigger tire. I mean, they don't rub or anything... but even with my Sprint springs, they seem just a tad undersized. But I'm not really complaining since I have to swap rims with OEM crap in the winter anyway.

I think I have said this about a million times recently but one more will not hurt.

The rubbing or not is determined by the offset of the wheel. The question of having 17s doesnt matter. I have 17s with 225/45 and they dont rub but I have the right offset (will be going up to 235s when its tire time). If you have the wrong offset they will rub plain and simple. Sorry I just get tired of all the people saying..."I want 17s or 18s will it work without rubbing"...its all in the offset.

if your tire is as small as you say though then it will not rub the fender because the sprints will not tuck the tire especially on a tire that small. If it doesnt rub on your strut then lowering the car will not change that.

now to answer your question...no it will not rub if it isnt now.

Then the 89 owner got it of a Civic, Sentra, Focus, etc.
235/45 didn't rub with my rims and Eibach, which are soon to be Sprints as you are planning. To be honest when I purchase my rims several years ago I dont know what offset was ordered. At that time I never knew to ask, so I just took it for granted which offset they would have gotten.
