Quick Tranny question

I'm trying to get my 93SE road worthy and am a beginner at performing my own maintanence. I had my tranny rebuilt a few months back. The other day I pulled my starter out and am disturbed by one of my findings. There is a hose coming off the top of the transmission at the front (front end of car) that is not attached to anything. I have been searching for tranny diagrams and I cannot figure out what this hose is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its driving me nuts. It is so thin but there was definitely trans fluid in it at one time. I'm wondering if it is some sort of vent hose that connected to the intake plumbing? Someone please help.
