Hi! I have already posted a question about my 89 Nissan Maxima's transmission before, but now I have another one.
I'm about to turn my car into Aamco to see if the problem is really the tranny. The guy there said it might be the "celluloids"(spelling?). Has anyone ever had the luck of thinking your transmission is out but it turned out to be something else??? I am keeping my fingers crossed, but I know that won't be my luck, getting out cheaper.

1770 does not sound too outrageous, price changes drastically with location, some can get theres done cheap while others have ot deal wiht high proces mine was about 14-1500 12 month warranty too ( and that might eb coming in handy soon)

faulty ignition coil or (s)

I had nissan of beverly mass, tell me that my tansmition was junk after i heard it from 3 other shops. The key to getting something fixed without takeing ***** in the rectum is to not tell them what you think the problem is, let them *****es do there job and find the problem, most likely it will be noticeable( example: if you think your haveing trans problems bring it in for a band adjust and fluid change(cottmans in my area charges 21$ for this service shouldnt be any more than that and the filter is only 7$ at autozone)if theres a problem , theyll notice it. Any way nissan of beverly sucks and so dont all the other mother *****es who tried to stick me for my pesos. I went home after leaveing nissan and tested the resistance in my ignition coils and it was just faulty coils, another sign i had was the a/t switch p would flash at acceleration. this is not nessesarally a symptom i also had to replace the switch( this is the power and comfort switch on your consol under the ash tray)good luck and CHECK YOUR COILS!!!!

No, I paid high for my tranny...

I paid $2500 at Cottman here in Vancouver, WA.
But it doesnt bother me, cuz I got a 3 year warranty..puts my mind at ease, that I'll never have to worry about my tranny again.
