SPEEDOMETER Not Working-1991 Nissan Maxima SE (standard) Not Starting-FUSE BLOWN

Anyway, this is a continuation of my previous post. I was driving through a parking lot in a thunder storm and as I was shifting down into 2nd (at about 10-15mph) the car just stopped running. A/C and everything would still work but I just couldn't get the car to start. I could turn it but no luck. the mechanic looked at it and was confused and made some phone calls and replaced to ignition module and got it to start after a while of fooling around. but the speedometer is still all the way to the right and it won't work. he mentioned that a fuse was blown really badly and he can't really figure out why. he also can't figure out what's up with the speedometer. anyway, what could the problem here be? feel free to ask questions, ill reply quickly.

thanks i need the car by the 16th so i can drive to long island and no one can figure out what's totally wrong with this thing. the mechanic said not to drive it a far distance if he cant totally doctor it. grrrr. im pretty ****ed about this whole ordeal... my dad shouldve just taken it to the nissan dealership and not his mechanic, even tho he knows a ton and is practically a genius. he cant figure this out. hes making phone calls today i guess. anyway, any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, the mechanic got the speedometer to work. He said it just "all of a sudden" worked and to not drive the car long distances??? If it's not fixed wouldn't he not give it to us? What are the chances of that same fuse blowing again?
