Seatbelt Sensor Problem

Has anyone had trouble with the seatbelts sensor? While I am driving the unbuckled light will come on and the annoying bell will ding 3 times. And during any drive this can happen zero to thrity times depending on length of the drive or apparently the sensors whim... SInce i have gone a few days without it coming on.

I am wondering if this is common?

My 92 does the same thing. It is on my list of things to do, but it is not a big priority as of now. However, it can be a little annoying. The good thing is that I have narrowed down the location.

My 91SE has the same problem. It's apparently a very common thing on 3rd gens. In my owners manual, it says that the motorized seatbelts have a lifetime warranty. I've seen several posts in the past where people have gotten them replaced at the dealer for free. I haven't taken mine in yet, but plan to soon.

I took the drivers side apart a while back and checked continuity on the switches. Couldn't find anything wrong, but the light comes on and the chime dings at random times. I suspect the problem may be in the passenger side. How did you narrow down where your problem was?

When I unclick the passenger side, the chime goes off as it is supposed to. However, on the driver's side, unclicking the belt does not cause any action. Then, on some days, it does.
