Question on rear spoiler....please
Hi guys. I have a 93SE with the original factory spoiler, it's the old nerf material and is cracked and lifting on both ends as they all did. I bought a new factory look-a-like spoiler off ebay, only it's made of fiberglass. I got it today and it looks like the factory one. If i got it painted, could I put it on myself? How does the old one come off? It came with all mounting hardware. Also where does the wire for the brakelight go or connect to?
Thanks, any help on this will be appreciated.

I have been experimenting with the loose ends of my spoiler and the best I have come up with on its removal is....
It is held down with sticky stuff around 2 bolts which I believe are holding it down for good. These bolts should be accessable by taking the piece covering the inner trunk lid off. I havnt gotten any farther on this but my speculation so far, but I will go more in to it soon, those ends are really ****ing me off!

The spoiler is held on with 4 screws around the 3rd brake light and sticky tape/snaps on the edges. The snaps can be a paint to get off but if your old spoiler is bad anyway then it will be easier since you will not care if it messes it up. If you use something to pry the clips up then dont push too hard because the metal on the trunk is really thin and will bend.
the wire for the brake light has a plug on it and to get to it and the 4 bolts you need to take loose take the liner off.
before you get it painted you need to test fit it. I have seen some factory replacement spoiler not fit quite right and need a little adjusting. Also if it doesnt have the big square where the brake light is then you will have to have someone weld up a hole that is under there for the 3rd brake light wire...its a big hole (around 1") because its got a big rubber gromet to keep water out.
Good luck.
