Rear bumper replacement

has anyone ever been hit in the rear and had to replace the back bumper? if so, how much did it cost? i was reading up that the bumper absorbers have to be replaced too. ive taken it to a body shop but the idiot wouldnt give me an estimate because he said they only do insurance estimates.

its a DIY job man....it'll take you 3-4 hours , which includes waiting for the liquid wrench to soak into the two rails of bolts on the bumper. u can begin by the lower rail and then get the trunk trim by the tail lights out of the way and get the 3 bolts inside on each side. you will also have to remove the tail lights to get to the upper rail of bolts...pretty easy.
