Hopefully this weekend i am putting a clutch in my 92 se, but i know i need one axle because the boot is ripped, however i can't see the other side, and i'd like to know before i start if i need the other axle because i could use that money at a car audio sale this weekend......any quick ways to check the axle boots on either side???

You may want to just go ahead and replace both of them anyway. If one boot is ripped, the other side will probably go soon too, especially if they have never been replaced. If I remember, they are between $50-$75 each at Autozone (or somewhere similar).

if there is dark grey grease all over the area they are gone. Also turn the wheel all the way in a direction and do a circle, see if they click.

Just climb underneath the car and look. It's not brain surgery.
