tapping
ok, when i start my engine (the new turbo engine) i'm getting this loud tapping noise. i'm hoping it's just sticky lifters from sitting so long. what would you guys recommend for sticky lifters if that's the case?
also, is there a possibility that an injector could make a loud ticking sound. it almost sounds in rhythm with the injectors but that doesn't seem possible. oh well, any ideas you guys have would help. thanks in advance!
ahh, forgot one more question. what is a good way to check oil pressure? i don't like the dummy light and would like to use a gauge. how would i go about doing that?

I asked a mechanic about a good additive to help clean lifters. He recommended the use of a product made by "Justice Brothers". Justice Brothers makes a product specifically intended to clean lifters and valves.
The mechanic told me to add a can to my engine and change the oil about 500 miles later. He told me to add another can when I changed my oil and then just change my oil at the next regular interval.
The product is called "Engine Tune-Up". I used it as the mechanic recommended and I thought it helped quiet my lifters. The Justice Brothers website is: http://www.justicebrothers.com/
I bought mine at a little independent parts store. You could pry E-mail or call the number on the webpage to find a distributor in your area. Or you could pry find it on the net and order it through the mail.
When I talked to the mechanic I asked him about running an engine flush/ engine cleaner oil additive. The mechanic didn't recommend that because he said that sometimes that can create so much sludge it can restrict or even plug the oil sump. He recommended to just use a additive that was specifically intended for lifters.
