auto tranny...

Okay, tried to search but no luck.
Tranny won't upshift from 2-3 under moderate-hard to hard acceleration. Will upshift in all other gears under hard acceleration & kicks down no problem. Just the 2-3 upshift. Take foot off the gas when engine starts spinning and it'll shift up. Drive in 'easy-livin' cruise mode' and it'll shift up. Have just changed the oil (old oil in good condition) and no change. Question: am I looking at a rebuilt/replace tranny soonish or can I make adjustment in valve body?

Re: Re: auto tranny...

Ran a diagnostic test on tranny - all good Curious to see if tranny treatment helps - I'm of the mind that additives only aid the tranny to fail quicker... It's probably a worn or mal-adjusted band. If anyone has a FSM that tells you how to adjust the bands, please write it up
PS: Had another Nissan a few years back that had a tranny with the valve body on top & band adjustment was reasonably easy.

I wouldn't bother with the trans treatment. I bought some trans-tune by Seafoam the other day, and it is supposed to be (allegedly) the best kind out there (maybe Lucas oil, too) Anyways, it did not help a bit- but, it sounds like your trannys are in better shape than mine. I just had to do a rebuild...
