89 Digital Dashboard

Just purchased a 1989 Maxima. Digital dashboard doesn't work. Previous owner says the dealer "plugged a wire in" last time at shop, and it fixed problem.

How do I diagnose/fix this?

You're just askin' for a flamin' fella
I mean, come on! How do fix the blown bulb in your own house???

Check the illumination control, fuses, then pull the instrument out and check the connections. Finally, trace all the dash connectors back to the multi-junction box to make sure they're actually plugged in. If the previous owner's had the dash pulled out, they may not have been reconnected.
PS: In case you didn't figure it yet, previous owner b.s. about wire thing - get your ride checked out to see if nothing else is wrong...

Fixed! Pulled the digital dash and sent it to be repaired. $200 including shipping and handling, plus a 5 year warranty. Same day repair. I'm extremely pleased, encourage anyone to send their digital dash to

Oh man, I would've just bought a used one out of the classified section, or off of ebay. That's kind've expensive.

the digi dash is kinda cool. I've got one in my '89. I gotta sort out climate control issues in that car though...
