Check out this A31 Cefiro R34-style front lip

Just wanted to share somethingg interesting I found this on the web at Workshop X :

http://www.workshopx.com/images/projectx/A31_3.jpg
http://www.workshopx.com/images/projectx/cef4.jpg
http://www.workshopx.com/images/projectx/cef2.jpg
http://www.workshopx.com/images/projectx/A31_1.jpg
http://www.workshopx.com/images/drift/11.jpg

These guys are located in New Zealand, naturally. I already contacted them if they have any experience with the US/Aussie spec Maxima, and if they'd be willing to do a group deal for this frame.

I know this is far fetched, and would be the most far fetched GD to date, but oh well.

The kit (sides and front) go for $US 700, so it's not exactly cheap. I'm waiting to find out if its 'glass or urethane.

So, I'll see if anything turns up with these guys.

Any attempt at doing this in the past? I'm not an expert, and I don't know if this topic came up in the past. ( I searched for A31 Cefiro, didn't hit much anything solid). Feel free to newbie-bash if this has been.

PS - I just came back from Australia, and I'm gonna post some pics of Aussie spec Maximas, and some other interesting stuff.

I'm just looking for a kit for my 3rd gen that's not the stillen or wings west, etc. I think those make the car look old... I've heard that 90-93 Accords can be converted pretty easily..anyone know anything about this?

You know you an't right for that Da-Max. Well, I guess this is the easiest way to tell who has hung around the org for a while. (If they actually jump on a 3rd gen body kit group deal, they're a )

Hey you've got to be a newbie sometime, right??? No biggie, its just there is always someone trying to get a group deal going for the 3rd gen. When ever they ask if anyone is intersted, everyone jumps all over it and can't wait for the deal to be ready. But when it comes time for the loot to be paid, they scatter like roaches when the lights come on.

As far as the 90-93 accord kit being modified. Your on your own. I guess anything can be done with the right amount of money. But I've never heard of it being a direct or modified fit for the 3rd gen Max.

being that the aforementioned is rather true, about the 3rd genners scattering like roaches when real money needs to be laid down, go ahead and buy the cefiro kit anyway and make it work. and buy the accord kits. it is not a cheap experiment. but can be worth it if you hit paydirt, so to speak.

from initial glance, as the pix are nice, btw, you would need to modify the place where the bottom of the headlights, sides and grille meets the top of the fascia add-on thing. widthwise, who knows. research A31 dimensions front to back, inside and out. if the thing is fiberglass, then you can have a body guy shape it. i don't know anything about urethane, but it seems less workable after-the-fact. but i would not count on any group deal. pretty much forget that.

That's what I figured, no surprise there. I thought I'd just rattle the cage a bit. I know I'm not the first on this badnwagon.

Well, I was thinking that at the price their asking for, I may be better off just buying a local R34 spoiler from Bomex or something, and getting that customised to fit my Max.

May be a better route than paying freight costs from the other side of the world...

Too bad though, I really like the way the Cefiro kit was pulled off.

i have bought quite a few things from new zealand and england for my car projects. a front fascia will not cost as much as you think to ship. it is not very heavy. oblong, maybe, but not heavy. if you really want the cefiro kit, then get it. you only live once, dude. and if it does not work, then ebay it. with any innovative venture, you cannot avoid risk or loss of some measure. don't talk yourself out it so easily. save some clams. be patient. trust your gut, man.

weight is different than size in shipping. The size of the box will be oversized and you will charged extra for it.

BTW...looks like fenders lights etc etc will need to be modified for this kit to work

is it just me or will the rear look really really weird without having a rear bumper the same height/clearance as the front? In anycase g/l with that.

I hear you on that note, the front lip is fairly low, but a good 'ole Stillen rear valence should even things a bit, if not exactly.

Thanks to everyone for your advice.

no he's talking about having THAT kit molded for the Maxima specifically...and $700 is low for a prohject like this, you guys have to understand what it takes to design a kit from scratch. this was the problem when I tried to run my deal a while back...some of you have to realize if you want stuff you have to "pay to play", especially when it comes to CUSTOM FROM SCRATCH. no sacrafices = no new parts
