Maxima Electronic Alarm System. Doorpad. HELP
Maxima Electronic Alarm System. Doorpad. HELP
i bought my 94 maxima 2 yrs ago and the owner lost the owners manual along with the code to alarm and disalarm the electronic car alarm system. i want to use the doorpad to alarm my car and disarm it but i dont have the code. i called the dealership and they said the number would be behind the cdplayer under the dash. so i checked and i see a lot of numbers. too many numbers i think, and there was a "E" letter in one of the groups of numbers.
is anyone familiar with this system? can anyone tell me anything that would be helpful for me to know so i can figure this thing out.
how many digits are there in the code? what do the letters above the numbers on the buttons stand for?(C, might mean clear, i think lck is lock, i dont know what ST is, i think there is one like WDW, and either the gray ones dont have letters on them or they faded)
is there a way i can check a 94 maxima manual online?

1. Locate the “S” number on the DTES control unit located under the dashboard on the passenger side of the car (Sxxxxxx).
2. Open the door then close it.
3. Lock the door by pressing the “Lock” key on the keypad.
4. Press the “Start” key on the keypad followed by the “S” number recorded from the DTES control unit.
5. During the long beep, enter in the desired four-digit, personalized code on the keypad.
6. If successful, the keypad will make four, short, double-beeps after the long beep.
To unlock the doors using the personal, four-digit code, press the “Start” key on the keypad followed by the four digit code. After the proper code is entered, all doors will unlock.

is that on a 94 maxima...or is it another generation? cuz the numbers are more towards the drivers side behind the cdplayer. there is no "Sxxxxxx" what is back there looks like this....
a big 7 along the left hand side that takes up two lines. and below it, there appears to be two letters ending with a K. and i cant tell if the first letter is a O or a P or a D. and on the right side the bar with the 7 and the 2 letters are two coloums and two rows followed by another line below that has 4 1 -S.
example:
77 XXXXX XXEXX
77 XXXXX XXXXX
ok 4 1 -S
the four 7's are actually one big one that takes up that much space

There should be a four number code behing the cd player. First prest st(start) and then enter the code and the locks shoul dpop up. After that if you want to pop the trunk press the trunk button or if you want to open the windows and the sunroof press and hold the window button. You might have to enter the code again to do those things.
damn all this is confusin' the guy. i have a '93 GXE and the main code is under the dash on the passenger side. it should be the second line of numbers and its 7 digits long. write down those 7 numbers and do what DARHAW-MAX told u to do.
youngbleek85: there is no need to re-enter the code again to open the windows, sunroof and trunk but u would have to do that quick right after u enter the code.

Get on your back and get as far under the passenger dashboard as you can. Now, look to the left, you will see a small box that will have the "S" number on it. Even in the brightness of day, you will not be able to discern the number without a flashlight. I recommend a small mag-light that you can insert in your mouth (yuck) while you write down the number--or call it out to an assistant.
I rotate my numbers every 6 months or so. That way, I can thwart would-be car thieves who think they can watch me enter my code. Also, I hit random keys prior to and after entering the code to help throw off aforementioned thugs.
You don't need to remove lower dash panel to see the control unit, but it helps!
Seriously, it takes less than 5 minutes to take the passenger lower dash panel off. Follow the destructions:
Open glovebox and remove screw that holds the the stay to the lid (looks like a plastic shock).
Unscrew the glovebox hinge mounts at bottom of glovebox (only 2).
The glove box should drop out.
The dash panel is held in by 3 or 4 screws - one on the side facing the door is covered with a trim clip. Remove the screws, pull off the panel & the control module is right in front of you.
You'll see a label with the above mentioned S & 7 digits.
Refit is the reverse. No problemo. Bada bing!

What do you mean - not work? And do you mean the switch on the drivers door (interior), or the outside keypads? If the interior switch n/op, clean contacts or replace complete switch unit. If you mean outside keypads, do a systems check: do the keypads light up / bleep when you push them? If not, check fuses, relay, find the control module & make sure it's connected. Pull door panels off & check keypads are connected inside as well. Do a search on the test site as lot's of info here - I'm not familiar with your alarms system. New Zealand spec max's didn't get "US factory" alarm - ours had specially modified CodeAlarm's fitted by dealer as an option (the car & alarm wiring looms were made to allow quick install of CodeAlarm at time of manufacture). Good luck
both switches the interior and the exterior dont work sometimes the interior switch works but other times it dont works and i have other question the electrical alarm have to make some beep or mething like that because my maxima dont do anything
