Doors wont lock with key...

ive been searching the forums and havent found an answer. maybe someone can help. yesterday, i put the key in the drivers door to lock it just like i do everyday but it wouldnt lock. when i turn the key to lock, it locks, then unlocks its self really quick. i sprayed contact cleaner in the hole, now it turns easier but still wont lock the doors. i have to press the power door lock button inside to lock my car. anyone know whats wrong or how to fix it. thanks.

something is up with the rod from the lock to the key. i would take it appart and see if something is binding. i know from shaving handles that if the rod that unlatches the door is too far down the door wont lock. dunno if that helps at all...... good luck

sorry

At least you can still lock the doors on the panel.
So before you shut the door, lock 'em, then hold the handle up as you close.

No big deal.
